II. Coastal route
Length: 5.1 kilometres
Description : As its name indicates, this itinerary provides exceptional views of the coast and the beaches of Blanes while also allowing for the discovery of historic buildings of great importance to the city.
Points of interest en route:
The Sa Palomera rock formation, rocks that mark the beginning of the Costa Brava and from which there are magnificent views of Blanes.
Plaça de la Solidaritat, recently constructed.
Ermita de Santa Bàrbara, a group of buildings formed by the chapel of Santa Bàrbara (XII century), a house and a defensive tower (XVI century).
Ermita de Sant Joan, XV century chapel dedicated to Sant Joan Baptista.
Castell de Sant Joan, dated to the XI century, with views of the outskirts of the city and a good part of the neighbouring towns.
Ermita de Sant Francesc, constructed in 1681 and situated at the top of the cove that shares the same name.
Cala de Sant Francesc, this cove, with a landscape typical of and unique to the Costa Brava, features a small pathway through the rocks.
Marimurtra Botanical Gardens, began in 1921, this is one of the most well-known European botanical gardens.
Capella de la Nostra Senyora de l’Esperança, on record since the XVII century and decorated in a maritime style.
